International Sex Workers Day is marked annually on June 2 to honour sex workers and call attention to the often inhumane conditions of their work. While some choose sex work voluntarily, too many – too often underaged – are forced into it, by their dire circumstances, because they are being exploited, or because they are victims of human trafficking.
